Description
I really love damselflies and dragonflies, so this male ebony jewelwing caught my eye while I was hiking last summer. In one direction, the wings look completely black, but at this angle, the wings show the hints of jewel tones that the body has. They really do look like flying jewels. So pretty! I painted this with acrylics on 12"x12" stretched canvas. I went a little mad scientist with the background and tried something new. Not sure if I like this or not, but the damselfly came out pretty.
